W115 Steering Coupling

Hi - looking for any tips on replacing the steering coupling in my 115. Mine is shot. The steering spindle isn't connected to the steering box anymore. So I can't use the current set up to create a reference for the new installation. Any ideas how I can ensure straight up on the steering wheel corresponds to straight ahead on the wheels after I put the new one on? Thanks.

When I changed the steering coupler on my 108 the forum archieves had all the trails and errors to work through the job. Alignment and reference point procedures all there.
Good luck and you'll love the results, took all the play out of my steering. My coupler was shot....no rubber at all remained. Have fun!
