freeze plugs?

Hello, I don't seem to find ANY kind of freeze plug on my engine 1970 250C. Is this possible? I asked in an earlier thread about installing an OEM block heater, but unsure of where to install it. There are 2 hex head, threaded caps on the drivers side. nothing resembling a typical freeze plug on either side.
Are these threaded caps coolant drains? they look smaller in diameter to brass OEM block heater. Thanks.

freez plug

freez plug location is what you are looking at , that is where you put it unscrew that plug and put some pipe seal on the threads for the new block heater and install your new block heater, route your cord away from heat and moving parts generaly to the passenger side front then tie it uo with a tie strap now your ready to go plug it in. that plug is a big allen wrench size can't remember exact size some where aroung 18 19 or 20 mm, you will need the kind that excepts a rachet 1/2 preferable and a big pull bar to break that plug loose sometimes you can use a big open end wrench to pull with if you have one big enough, good luck

thanks, It just seems odd for there not to be any actual freeze plugs, obviously the threaded caps wont unscrew if the coolant gets below the freezing point. What kind of block protection is there? The 2 caps are on the drivers side, both 17mm Allen type.

freez plugs

There are freez plugs in the engine in the back of the block covered by the bellhousing, & there should be other freez plugs in the block.there are also freez plugs in the head.

Freeze plug is a common misnomer for core plug. Core plugs are used to cover the holes use to remove the sand used in the casting process.

On my 1972 250C, they were on the passenger side underneath the manifold. There were about 4 IIRC.
