I posted this a few days ago with a less specific title, so I'll try again:
I'm doing some work on a 1972 280SEL 4.5 which among other things has involved pulling the intake pipe and manifold. I have the manual on CDs that I bought from MBUSA (Early Model Years Vol. 3), but am having problems making it work properly. I hear this is common, and I was advised to use an add-on created by Steve Nervig to make the CDs a little more user friendly, but so far I'm not having any luck with that. After Christmas I'm going to ask Steve for some help, but in the meantime I want to reinstall the manifold and don't have the torque specs or the installation procedure and tightening sequence. I'm also wondering how MBZ suggests the gaskets should be placed, and what kind, if any, sealant should be used.I would appreciate it if someone could post or PM this info to me. Also, if there are any common pitfalls that I may likely run into while performing this procedure I would be grateful if some of the more experienced amongst the posters here would warn me about them.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas.
