How many miles a year?

I am averaging about 15000 miles a year on my 280 SEL.

From June to present (I took her off the road for a complete restoration I started four days ago) I put about five thousand kilometers on my 250CE with her off the road during the month of July. So 5,000km over seven-ish months.

I have 7 running classics that are tagged and insured so there is too manyto put some serious miles on just one. My newest car is a w126 and the oldest running is the 73 GMC workhorse and the MGB. All get driven like I stole them.

Britton, FYI, my two post lift is getting new seals and a power pack installed at the moment and should be ready, if you want to give me a hand putting it up, i'll give you unrestricted access to it .

0 per year in my 4.5 the last 3 years and it depresses me
16k per year the last 2 years in my Charger, and about the same in the 300M. About 5k per year in the Jeep, if that.

Filled up my 240D once in the past 15 months. It's my Mercedes truck for Home Depot runs, recycling runs, etc. Averaging about 400 miles per year on it for the past five years or so. Still runs great though.

Between three cars, none of them gets driven a whole lot. I've put 18,000 miles on the 240D in three years, 17,000 on the 300D in 4 years, and it's hard to tell for sure with the 250 since the odometer slips really badly. I'm thinking I've put two or three thousand on it in a year and a half. It was down with a bad tranny for almost a year. Oh, and I was overseas with my cars in storage for 15 months in 2006-2007.

The '66 250SE Cab sees less than 500.
The '85 500SE sees about 5-7000.
The '86 Jeep CJ sees about 3000.

But then I still have a pickup and a Lexus that's my daily driver.

I put about 15K a year on the 240D.It gets driven most everyday.I use it a lot as it gets substantially better MPG than the 450SL
I've only put about 8K on the SL in 2 years.I enjoy driving it a lot more but it gets 14-17 mpg vs 32-34 on the diesel.

I work about 15 days a month and live 9 miles from work so my "daily driver" 1976 450SEL goes about 3240 miles a year. My 1974 F250 goes less that 100 a year and the wife's 2005 HHR goes about 11500 a year but I rarely drive it.

'98 E320 12k km/yr since purchase in '02 (12.7 km/yr since new)
'85 300D 15k km/yr since purchase in '90 (16.8 km/yr since new)
'72 350SL 1.5k mi/yr since purchase in '89 (4k mi/yr since new)

Depreciation on these cars is "interesting". Approx numbers based my purchase price and guess at current value:

E320 - C$4500/yr or C$0.35/km or C$0.57/mi (102k km driven since '02)
300D - C$450/yr or C$0.03/km or C$0.05/mi (280k km driven since '90)
350SL - C$476/yr or C$0.20/km or C$0.32/mi (28k mi driven since '89)

I don't have maintenance costs handy, but the 300D would win hands down on overall running cost!

The SDL averages 1000 miles a WEEK!
The BMW does around 200 miles a week and the truck sits most of the time...

The SDL will go 52000 miles this year, the 528e 10400 and the truck probably 3500...
