109 Window motor wiring help needed
Folks
I'm replacing the motor and regulator on the passenger front window in my 72 300 SEL 4.5. The new motor has barbs for electric connectors so I was expecting a plug and play replacement but nooo. I've got pictures. I need to know which side of the new motor is the negative terminal and I've never seen this type of connector before does anyone now where to buy this type of connect to crimp on to the old wiring? Thanks Tim Last edited by tmcn3; 10-06-2009 at 11:19 AM. |

Just get a couple of Female crimp type connecters and put them on the two wires then push them on. If the window goes "down" when you push"up" simply switch the wires, they are designed to go in two directions by switching at the control.

Thanks mercmad6.3 - your suggestion to switch the wires came in handy. The new motor and regulator work perfectly now and the action of the window is sublime. I am so happy with the repair that I sometimes put the window down and back up just for fun and the renewed sense of accomplishment.

General rule with regulators is that the body of the motor is grounded to the frame of the door and power is added to either wire at any one time, reversing the motor to go up or down.
