Here's an ambitious project for someone

I'm guessing a welder is required.

Cool find, but if someone with the kind of garage (shop) that the guy has in those pictures doesn't want to fix it... well, I'd be scared.

No relation to this lister on CL, but this is a good project with a head start. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/1578085344.html ... only if I had the room. What do they worth once fixed up / restored anyway?

The CL vehicle is ok, considering, but the 220S is overpriced. I've got one (a 220S) I'll sell you with an extra engine for 1500, I need the room.

Posted this on MBCA site, but maybe someone here is intrerested:

Ad in the Myrtle Beach, SC Craig's list:

http://myrtlebeach.craigslist.org/cto/1546513856.html

Seems like someone has two 220s partially restored. Ad says:

Two (2) 1958/59(not sure) Mercedes Benzs, model 220(not sure) for sale. One is factory black and the other is primed in grey. Originally bought with the intent of building one usable car from the two and using the remaining car/parts for spares. Cars are in partially disassembled state and currently stored in a large,dry, storage room. Anyone interested should visit Conway and have a first hand look at what is available because I am unable to get good photographs due to the positioning of the cars in storage. I am listing these but I am too much of a novice to really be able to relay what the potential is for these cars. I do know, however, that this offers someone the possibility of a beautiful classic Mercedes (or two!) in a completed state.

* Location: Conway, SC

Len S. & I went to see these cars today. Both bodies seem solid, but the cars are both partially stripped and in need of a lot of work. Owner passed away and his father is trying to sell them. No price set. There are boxes of parts but no inventory made of what is there. Cars are in Conway SC near Myrtle Beach - stored indoors. If anyone is interested, Len has contact info and some pictures.
