stall after overrunning engine, 230SL
Hi, I have a 1966 230SL I'm trying to return to a driver. It will always stall after a long run down a slope, and I disengage the clutch. I've tried a number of ignition timing settings, FIP rich/lean on idle screw and main air valve. None seem to have effect, although running idle really rich seems to negate it some. Any ideas? Otherwise it starts and runs fine. Ron

What is the air temp and humidity ?
Does it have the water heated throttle valve ? throttle plate icing Check it immediately upon stalling for a cold throttle plate |
