Anybody with a euro 450 SE?

Question about lights on each side of steering wheel, below instrument cluster. I have a '75 450se, but only have an american version owner's manual. On the left side of the steering wheel, there is a series of lights..From the outside towards the steering wheel, it goes left blinker, I think another one(not sure,I'm not out there to look), and then the emergency brake which looks something like this...(0) Then on the right side of the steering wheel from the console in, it goes right blinker, and then there's a light that doesn't appear in the american manual. It looks just like the symbol on the other side (0) only the outer lines aren't solid. They're like dashes. What is this?

It the brake pad warning light. It *should* turn on when the brake pads are worn.

Johan:

Thanks! The light isn't on, it was just driving me nuts because I didn't know what it was and the book didn't say.

My light stays on even though I have gone over the whole braking system, pads are very good. What could be the problem?

Thanks,
Tim

Its possible that the wires going to the brake sensors have chaffed and are rubbing on some metal. On my W123, this happened right at the 'tunnel' that the wire had to go through in the brake caliper.

Did you change the sensors when you installed new brake pads?
