Benz Bin can PISS off..

Hey Hippie..

I contacted the Benz Bin a while ago with some legitimate questions about some parts...Thanks to the guys in THIS forum, I was very equipped with the mechanical knowledge...(meaning I wasn't sounding like an idiot)....those JERKS treated me like I was wasting their time...they were rude and short with me..ASSUming I knew nothing about cars...

I would NEVER give them MY business...I'd deal with Fastlane if I were you..

Exclamation Benz Bin, Up Down you never know about them

The Benz bin is a funny place. My first experience wit them was nothing short of terrible. I ordered a common part for a M130 engine. They repeatedly sent me parts for M110, M117 (V8), even an M189 engine. They also made me pay for all return shipping, and it took months to get my account credited back. I gave then chassis # an engine # still they could not get the right part. So I went to Buds Benz, paid $ 20 bucks more, got the right part first time. By the way, I spent way more in shipping cost than 20 dollars, not to mention Benz Bin would not ship a new part until they got their wrong part back, it took weeks. That was two years ago.

This summer I gave them another try, still sending the wrong parts but quickly fixed no fuss. Recently I have tried to call them about an injection thermostat. I have called 3 time left messages, I have not been call back at all. I took my business elsewhere. They also really want you to use their web page but beware, this is a really easy way to get yourself the wrong part.

Bottom line is that Benz Bin has good prices, but if you need some in short order and it has to be right, pay the extra few bucks and go somewhere else.

Thanks for the information. I found out that the last three days there phone system has been down. I talk to a person named Herbert and he was going to check a part I wanted but that was yesterday and he hasn't called me back yet. I checked out the Buds Benz website and sent them a message about a part I wanted. They sent me a email message back to me, but I couldn't read it and they sent another file with it and it had a virus on it. But I removed it from mailbox so it didn't do anything to my computer. How do you order the parts from them? Do you know any other places to order parts from?

You have a green 250C I have a green 280!!! I don't see many green benz.

It's not easy being green. My 1961 180b, 1960 220S and 1972 250, are all green! (But my 1972 250C is brown over beige)

I enjoy my 280, even though has been alot of work trying to get back together in good. But I plan on keeping for a long time. No car maker will ever make cars this good any more. I did a dumb thing too. I used to have a 1977 Buick Regal that I bought for $500.00 and I sold that and I will I think that it was a dumb mistake becuase I really enjoyed that car. I always wanted to know if MB made a alot of cars green? I have never seen a new one in green. I was able to get a hold of binbenz agin and they did find me my part, they said it was a special order item and will take 7 days to get it.

My first Mercedes, the 180b, was a color they called Moss Green, a sort of greyish green that I've seen most often on 1960s VW microbusses. Dark green was a popular color on Mercedes from the 60s through the early 70s. It really shows off the chrome trim on the older cars. I've owned 3 dark green ones and seen many others in that color, usually with tan or saddle color interiors. I remember seeing some Mercedes from the mid 70s, like yours, in what I would call pale avocado. Since the 1980s, green has become popular again on US cars. I've seen many Ford Explorers this color. I recently saw a couple of Mercedes in a sort of blue-green metallic, I think they were early 90s, 300E models. I haven' seen any new ones in green.
