Pimp my ride = 25" wheels on my 1962 fintail

Hello Peaches,

Went to the tire store yesterday and put 25s on my 1962 Fintail 220Sb. The difference in ride quality is fantastic. It is easier to steer pulling in and out of a parking space.

This is what the car looked like with tires that came on the car...

This is what the car looks like now with 25 OD tires...

Here is a close up comparision of old and new tires. The Overall Diameter (OD) of the old tire was 22.5"

Ya had me scared there for a minute. I thought you meant 25" RIMS, 'cause that's what you said (25" wheels)!

Car looks great.

I was being punny!

The hubcaps were originally painted. The previous owner must have stripped them because they weren't perfect. Painting the caps is definitely on my to-do list.

Thank you all for the compliments.

I like the whitewalls. They really fit the car nicely.

I thought the same! And I was thinking '25" rims wouldn't fit on my Charger, nevermind a 111!'

Looking much better indeed.

25's on a fintail

How has it affected your speedo? I am going to do the same
thing with 67 230. I will be putting the wheels/tires on this weekend and
but won't be able to test drive for a couple of weeks. I am also assuming
the new wheels you put on are 14's.

The speedometer should not be affected. These tires are the correct size as it left the factory 185/80r13. The tires that were on the car were also 13" but not the correct size (175/70r13). The diameter of the new tire is 25" compared to 22.5" on the old tire. The speedometer should have been wrong before I changed tires and should be correct now.

There is a guy on Ebay selling this size car tire for 44.00 each. Luckily, I found a guy near my house with these tires in stock. They are available, you just have to call around.

So that's why they look better as well...

Excellent tire choice. I love the thin stripe of white since it's not as much of a ***** to maintain as a 4" white wall. Your car looks fantastic!
