The reassembly seems to be taking much longer than disassembly for some reason.

Last night I finished installing the headliner and sunroof. I have all the carpet pieces cut and ready to go in, that will probably happen this weekend. I am waiting on 3 more fittings for the Air Conditioner, then the dash can go back in. I have the driver's door hung but will probably wait until the very end to install the others.

My garage has never been this messy before but in 2 weeks I should be able to give it a major cleaning.

A few more pictures. I need to run to the hardware store to pick up new fender bolts - the old ones didn't look very good next to new paint.

A view of the new AC condenser and transmission coolers, plus the pile of old carpet (green) and new carpet (brown).

What color is the interior

Looks great,

What color is the interior? Did you change the color of the carpeting, etc.

The carpet was green (see picture) but I decided to change it to something in the brown family to stay with the interior theme. The headliner stayed pretty close to the same color but has a different texture.

Thumbs up

Nice!

Did you do a write up on the conversion to the parallel flow condenser install? I plan to do this on my 280S along with a Sanden compressor when time comes (after I Megasquirt the car with a GM TBI head for simplicity and reliability).

I need to do that with my 1980 300SD! It has peeling clearcoat over black paint over the original Walnut Brown. When I hear that to get a decent paint job I need to pay at least $2,000 and do all the parts removal myself it makes my heart sink. The paint will be worth more than the car I have it put on! I am considering renting a booth and spraying the paint myself.
