Torque settings for 73 280 gas Carb.

Replacing my head gasket, I need the torque settings for the head bolts. Is there a specific sequence they need to be tightened?

I've searched the forums and couldn't find the torque setitings for the Head Gasket on a 2.8L Inline 6 DOHC gas engine for the 73 280. I believe it is the M110.921

Thanks,
Josh

w116.org in the library has the FSM for the M110, it's in there.

Here are the specs. for the M110 engine from the shop manual. All specs. are in Neuton Meters (Nm). Tightening sequence is from the center bolts, alternating outward fore and aft, as with most engines. Here's how to convert from Nm to ft. lbs. torque:
http://www.boltscience.com/pages/convert.htm

Bolts and cap nuts for cylinder head cover: 5
Necked-down screw for cmshaft sprockets: 80
Cylinder head bolts M 12 X 1.5 on cold engine:
step 1: 40
step 2: 70
after 10 min. setting time: 110
Bolts M 8 for cylinder head to crankcase: 25
Closing plug chain tensioner: 50
Threaded ring chain tensioner: 50
Ball seat ring in chain tensioner: 25

Cam housing bolts:

Bolts M 8 for camshaft housing to cylinder head: 25
Expansion bolt for camshaft sprockets: 80
Ball locating ring in chain tensioner: 25
Valve adjusting screw: 20-40
Cylinder head cover bolts and capped nuts: 5
Level Control pump to camshaft housing (if equipped): 9

After everything is tight (before hooking up valve train components and chain) both cams should be able to be turned by hand.

Do these cylinder head torque specs hold true for the 1985 M110.990 engine in a R107.042 280SL Euro. I believe the late model M110 engines had stretch type head bolts.
