The project got delayed because I was out of the country for a while. I also rebuilt a rear axle and transformed a 6 cyl 5 speed manual trans into a V8 one which took some time. I finally got to a junkyard where I got all what I needed to make a nice wiring harness. I will be using two Volvo 4 cyl harnesses to make a V8 one. I like their finish. They are well protected and still nice and souple.

MS3 is out now, but already sold out. That will give me some time to fit the 3.27 rear axle on the car.

I've got extra trigger points if still needed

I've spent a tremendous amount of time inside of my distributor. Mine needed to be re-bushed and oil was creeping up the shaft and getting on the trigger points causing injector misfires. I was finally able to get a rebuilt dizzy on Partsamerica.com which is no longer on line. And I found a new set of trigger points on eBay. So I have 2 extra sets of points.

good oil seal is critical

Mine were fouling every 1200-1500 miles.Ordered the proper seal(4-5$)from my nearest dealer and no more issues since.
I am always on the lookout in the pick your parts yards for anything D-jet.My current work schedule(6 days/50+ hours/week) has seriously curtailed my parts hunting expeditions but I have had little to no luck finding these parts in quite a while.Fortunately my car runs pretty good, especially after finding a good aux air valve.Went through 3 before I got a good one.
I never thought about getting a spare ECU,,,Is this something to consider? I've not heard of one going bad but I suspect they must be in near "unobtainium" status.I have a spare set of trigger points and am going to get a MAP sensor when I can find one.

ecu's are pretty bomb proof unless subjected to physical abuse. The last set of TP i used had a pretty elaborate plastic shield around the points, I could use contact spray to clean them through a tiny hole but it was not to my liking. I suspect this later designed shroud was to keep oil/dirt away from the points.

I think there are a lot of ECUs knocking around. They dodn't usually fail, so not much demand. They go pretty cheap usually - maybe $50.00.

If anyone has one, I would be interested - part 0280002005. Just to add to a collection of used/new parts for my old SL! Eventually, my spare parts will probably be worth more than the car!
