3.5 Throttle Position Switch - Replace with 4.5 Unit?

Does anyone think this will work?

The 3.5 has a surge on light acceleration, and flakey readings from the switch when moving the throttle. The idle speed contact adjustment is perfect. I took the cover off the TPS, and cleaned it (not at all dirty), and observed that the track of the contact is deeply grooved into the circuit board. The cleaning did not improve the situation. I think it's TU and is certainly not going to get better with time and driving.

The 3.5 TPS is NLA/NOTP (not on this planet).

The 4.5 switch looks the same except that it has a full-load position. I am quite sure I can modify the connector to fit.

dont see why not, same basic technology, as long as you get the required readings full closed and on its way to the full throttle. Is it 10 pulse points?/
