w108 Differential install
Gentlemen
Good Morning After putting the "new rear" into my 280se I encountered some wheel rub on the drivers side. The tire was rubbing the shock tower. I knew immediately what I had done incorrectly. That adjustment arm - passenger side about 8 '' long with 3 donut bushing connecting to the car body and a "turnbuckle " style adjustment to the STEEL ring on differential. Are you with me ? I was "pissed" at myself for taking this apart and not making a better mental note. So I went back under the car and adjusted it - the wheels are now within a 1/4 -3/8 '' of each other ( rough measurement -wheel to fender ) My question to you- the end of the rod that attaches to the body has 3 donuts - two were on the outside of mount and one was towards the pumpkin I'm wondering if I have it backwards? Car is pulling to the left at 3-40mph |

Both inside and outside rubber buffers are the same part number. A single part should resemble two doughnuts stacked on top of each other. Perhaps one of your rubber buffers got split in half somehow.
Let me know if you need a picture of a whole one. 280SE Guy |

After installing the rear, check the front wheel to rear wheel distance dimensions side to side for equality. Did you replace the front trailing arm bushings?

It is important to make sure that the axle is squared up the drive shaft.
Almost as important is that all the old rubber was replaced with new rubber.
