Hello yall
just installed my pertronix on my 051 bosch distributor on my 69 280se coupe. I grinded the vacum advance bracket to clear the magnetic ring. I then installed the pickup and connected the wires. it started up imediately but seemed to idle low. I figured the timing must have changed slightly so i threw the light on it and noticed as it revved up the timing wasnt advancing. Before the install it definately was.
I did notice that on the bracket for the pickup there is a notch where it looks like a tab from the baseplate of the distributer hits up agaisnt it. I noticed in the points bracket plate there is no notched but itis relieved so there wouldnt be any interference. Am i looking at the right thing does that notch need to be enlarged or am i looking at the wrong thing.
Any help would be appreciated.
I also noticed in the instructions that it says the gap between the mag ring and pickup should be .030 thousandths although mine is over a .100 and there is no way to adjust it.
