zenith carb fuel dribble
230S. 111 fintail with zenith 35/40 INAT carbs.
The front carb has a small dribble of fuel drops from the atomizer area ,quite similar to a leaking needle valve . What could cause it ? To verify the operation of the needle valve i swapped it with rear one still the occasional dribble. The rear carb works fine with no dribble . mak |

As mentioned by the Forum adviser ,the fault lies in a clogged air channel to the idle system ,causing the pre atomizer to dribble fuel as fuel is pulled in from the main jet .

My front carb had a blockage here.
67' 250S Vent hole on Carb Question These are great little carburetors when they are right. Hang in there.

Ritchie .
Thanks for the information. Yes it seems a buildup of deposits here does cause the infamous zenith stalls and rough idling.Best cleaned by removing the plug,Any suggestions for re-plugging it. mak |
