My Barn find- 1967 250S

It's been quite awhile since I last posted here but I knew you guys would appreciate my Barn Find. It's a 1967 250S W108. 100% original, 94K original miles. Been in one family since new. Has not been ran in 21 years. The car was parked in 1989 when the owner was driving home from a long trip. One of the rear calipers kept locking up on him. He parked the car and never touched it again....that is until I found it a few days ago. The cylinders are currently soaking in WD-40.....

Looks like a nice car. Hopefully too nice to restore, just clean it up and bring the mechanics up to snuff!

thanks for all the replys, yes I'm definately going to try and avoid the restoration on this one...I'm going to freshin her up and replace as little as possible. I'm still amazed that the car is in as good of shape that it is. no rust holes in the car whatsoever just specs here and there, the driver side fender has a little bump but other than that she is solid. I'm sure the buffer will work wonders on the paint. The car was purchased brand new by Earnest Fitter who I'm told was a notable engineer and invented some of the avionics on some of the early war planes. He willed the car to his nephew who I bought it from.

He showed me some pictures from when he picked the car in the late 80's and she looked nearly perfect!! He said his uncle had 4 engineering degrees and was very meticulous when caring for the old girl. I have all the stamps in the service booklet all from the same dealer in NY.

I'm excited about getting her back on the road, I'm just hoping it doesn't cost me a small fortune.

I found her nose peeping out behind some brush when driving to see a friend. I knocked on the door, negotiated with the owner and paid $500 for her.

You guys please stay close by, I am sure to need help with this one!

Congrats! I notice the tires are holding air --- that made loading it on the trailer much easier. So, how long did it take you to get back over there and get it loaded?

I've got my fingers crossed for you on cylinders soaking.

Nice. I once attempted something similar with a Euro W126 a few years ago. It was a mess and the only thing I was interested in were the headlights but despite its look I was told that it was in running condition.

Don't just check your fuel delivery hoses.

REPLACE ALL OF THEM --- especially on gasoline models!!!!

I have 3 more (with banjo bolts) to replace on diesel Ben.
