Last night on FaceBook
I just read this last night on FaceBook. My nephews and their friends were having a discussion about color. The concensus was that us guys learned the following:
blue light blue dark blue navy blue There are no other shades of blue unless the guy is some type of Geek that deals in graphic arts who knows RGB shades by number. I would say that w108/w109 is "blue".

I think it's 396G (Medium Blue)

It could be, but I thought medium was a bit darker. This car (below) is supposed to be medium blue:

Hey Audihenry,
Nice picture. There are two Medium Blues. 350H (In your picture) And yes, it's a little darker. (Good eye) And 396G (A little lighter with Metallic) It's really hard to tell from the small bit of picture shown. Could be 906G Grey Blue, but I still think it's 396G. (Just my guess, for whatever it's worth) Michael |

Keen eye! It looks to be different in that it doesn't have the side blinker, either. (This is a 6.3 so I don't know if they had that anyway)
Michael: I think you may have solved it! I tried to find a photo of the lighter shade to no avail. The mystery (sort of) continues! |

Look on the data plate on the top of the radiator support. Transcribe all the numbers in the order they are stamped and post them here, or take a picture and post it here.

No, Lapis Blue was definitely darker than picture in question.
My belief? Aftermarket blue. I don't remember ever seeing that color on any Mercedes-Benz the past 41 years since our family started buying Mercedes-Benz when I was a teenager. At that point, I started noticing ALL the few Mercedes-Benz I'd see in Omaha. |

It could be 906G which is light blue metallic.

Both my 280CEs are 906G and they are much lighter in color.

It looks like a similar color to kpb's (if not the same), except in different lighting.
The 108 is back on the road.

Go to drcolorchip.com on the right hand side click on make, click on year, click on all models. The site will give you all the colors that Mercedes or any other manufacturer used in that particular year for all their models. Mercedes Benz used 6 blues in 1969 for example:
DB-304 Horizon Blue (light pastel, almost gray baby powder blue) DB-350 Medium Blue (a dark hue blue, the darkest that year) DB-387 Blue Metallic (Medium shade) DB-396 Blue Metallic (same name but lighter than DB387) DB-903 Blue (light pastel, non-gray, baby powder blue) DB-904 Dark Blue (a dark blue) http://www.drcolorchip.com/select-color.php?year=1969&make=Mercedes-Benz&model=All+Models&search=Go There was a Blue Green (DB-268) which is hardly blue and a Gray Blue Metallic (DB-906) again it looks all gray and no blue.
