If you want to experience what a new 83 500SL Euro feels like it I have a fully documented 48K original miles euro; imported to U.S.A. in 1983 new and has had 2 careful owners (last owner a 70 year old wife of a banker) before me; always a Texas car never any salt always driven enough to keep it in top shape; not one oil leak anywhere; original rare chrome bundts; original spare still in trunk; and best of all FACTORY TRI-Y headers; euro headlamps with wipers. Antracite grey black leather hardtop and soft top. Not cheap at $20K but truly unique and is worth more. Putting out feelers; no picture collectors please will only consider serious buyers. To answer your questions this car has the fast 240HP euro engine w/headers and it is a bulletproof car (I know I have also a euro 500SEL hot rod and Euro 420SE daily drivers) with the best euroV8 engine; Auto transmission; and rear end Mercedes built.

Don't have a preference of one over the other.
Not sure if it makes a noticeable difference 29 to 39 years later, but still would like opinions on what model is more reliable if the condition of all the vehicles is equal.
Also, when they do need repairs, which is most costly? Guess here is the 6.9's than the SLC's.
Thanks.
