116 Owners: How much wind noise do you have?
I seem to have a lot of wind noise and I'm not sure if it's normal for the car or if I'm just spoiled by driving a late model car often (a Buick nonetheless). So I'm curious, is yours very noticeable? I'm talking about wind noise over 65 that seems to come from everywhere.

You should have little to no wind noise. These cars are very tight. You may need to replace 1 or more door seals.

I did a test for you on my W116 with new door seals Compared to my W203, the W116 is very loud (as expected). Compared to my full-size Montero, the wind noise is about the same.
It's my opinion that the A-pillar trim is probably one of the major causes for wind noise. It looks like it probably traps a bubble of air in the pocket. |

Shoot! That's not what I wanted to hear! I wanted to hear that this problem can be remedied with new door seals.
Oh well, I guess we can't have everything with these 35 year old cars. Regards, David
