where can i find these parts.....?

ive painted my 1973 220d, i felt like an idiot trying to explain this to the dealer. so lets see if someone here understands what im saying....

the chrome trim that sorrounds my car( see photo attached) has "male" plastic push pins on it. on the body, there are little red grommets the "female" that holds them in place.

i need about a dozen or so of the females and maybe 2 or 3 of the males, as i broke some taking them off for paint/prep work.

can anyone help me find them, or maybe know of a part number?

thank you all in advance- marc

Marc,
You can buy a bag of the red grommets on eBay for about $20. You might be SOL on the male tabs - aren't they part of the trim?

yeah the male part of the trim isnt replaceable, hopefully you can repair them, however you can buy the little red push in pieces that pop into the car....

The males are also replaceable. They slide down the tracks. Work one end of the rubber exterior bumper off. Using soapy water will allow you to slide the hard plastic retainer and the prongs out of their guide rails. Replace the needed prongs (I get mine from an old piece of trim) and slide back into place.

Believe it or not, some guys have been known to put the red pieces onto the black clips and then wonder why they couldn't mount the chrome strip. Insert all the red pieces into the holes of the body first. Then hold the chrome strip against the car exactly where you want it laterally, slide the black tabs to align with the red pieces, and pop the strip into place.

i ordered 20 of them, theyre on their way. my issue is that i welded in some new metal, so i need to be real careful as i need to drill new holes for the red pieces. im thinking ill just run some twine along the passanger side and mark the spots, then run it along the drivers side(then we'll see how good my body work was)
