mb part number 115 542 03 07 the dealer can get it, mb classic states list of $104, but when i call howcome mb of sarasota gives me a price of 157.02? does anyone know of a good source of used parts or anyone who has one i can buy? |
I don't know how much it would cost, but if you take your old one out there are places that can make you a new speedometer cable. They'll reuse the ends off yours.

Check the Help! section of your local auto parts store - they sell a universal cable that will work.

thorsen- do i just use my ends? have u done this? ill go to autozone now

I did it on my 1972 250C because the dealer said he could not get me a cable. The part you buy is just the inner cable - it has one "end" already attached. You cut the other end to the correct length and attach the extra end to it using the supplied die to crunch it with a hammer. It sounds crude but it works well, just make sure you get a clean cut.

ill try that and see if it works and put it in my parts closet if it does....in the mean time i put the part # on ebay, and just found a brand new one for 59 + shipping! my lucky day!
