Becker Shortwave Radios on Ebay

I was looking on ebay at Becker radios, they are going for alot of money. Luckily I have the corona dial tune one and it works. What I would really like is the shortwave radio. Has anyone ever seen one in a car, or heard one? How is the reception while underway?

From what i've heard, no pun intended -.-, Shortwave radios inherently have a lower quality reception when compared to other venues. Was one of the main reasons it became 'obsolete'

Given it's purpose, nearly all international news, sound quality might not be important. Depending on where you live, go for some early morning tune ins Finnish news is lively

Here's a picture of the one i've seen in a 1969 220D. located in the glovebox.

just today found a Becker Europa 594 at my local salvage. $10. score. has shortwave, longwave, am, and fm. once I get it up and running, I will let you know how it is. don't even know if it works yet.

I think you are talking about two different things - a Becker LMKU is two shortwave bands plus AM and FM. I doubt you are going to get much of anything on the shortwave bands. Completely separate from that is the Reims shortware adaptor similar to what is shown in the glovebox picture. That wires in with the old becker radio to provide shortwave. That is really cool, and I have no idea what you can hear out of it.
