ACCII 1979 W116 450SEL NO HEAT

I have been working on my climate control for the last couple of days. I spent a few hours last night doing research, and I feel I am understanding the system. I have verified that all of my sensors are within range, my servo is a new aluminum bodied unit, my amp tested good and my aux pump is working. I am getting full vent control and fan speed variation. My A/C is charged and blowing cold, just as it should, but no matter what I do, I can not get heat out of the vents. I am able to feel the hoses to the heater core get hot, and I have blown air thought the heater core and it is not clogged. Any ideas?

will the heater servo open and close with the ignition switch on, and not running?
