Take a look under the seat to see if there are clips (red) that you can pull together and raise the seat bottom. If they're not there, then they may be bolts. If no bolts, then just pull up.

Bottom cushion releases and lifts out.
Push rearwards and lift.

Backrest has a couple of bolts along bottom edge.
One each at the ends, maybe another in the middle (can't remember...).
top of backrest is hooked into package shelf, once bolts aare removed, lift up, then pull forward.

My '74 280C has two brackets extending into the rear-seat footwell that accept bolts from the rear-seat bottom cushion--these are secured by wing-nuts.

The rear seat-back has three bolts that extend into the trunk. Judging from the above I'm a little surprised at all the variations--perhaps the coupes were in fact "custom-built" to some extent.

Tim,

More likely it's a combination of my having 5 MBs, and that I've not removed the rear seat from a W114 coupe in the last 6 or so years.

Killing braincells with beer might also contribute...
