Nice Pictures, thanks for sharing. I am surprised I did not see a 230/250/280SL.

Wow...I used to go to Frachtstraße all the time in the 80's with a load for the warehouse.
Never realized there was a museum there.

That is the building on Mercedesstraße with the rotating Mercedes Star on it, right?

That was the beauty of being a truck driver, got to see Europe for free and got paid for it !

The first four are from the main museum, which is near the rotating star building, they're 'young classics' which are for sale. The rest are from the Fellbach classic centre, these cars change as they had a completely different set when I was there 3 years ago...

They were around 20-25,000 Euro for the W115 and W116s, they were all low-miles as you'd expect in that condition.

Shame about the 190SL, I guess after 12 years she probably isn't going to come back for it...

Just 'cause it's relatively easy to get to from where I am in the UK, and I've had a list of museums/shows I've wanted to visit there since there's lots of MB stuff... plus I can pick up lots of nice food and beer on the way back through France

And there are good deals on eurostar - which makes the ferry even cheaper!

I would have expected the cars to be very close to original. The Stroke 8 cars in the picture dont even have the correct wiper blades installed...

Picky, picky, picky......

I envy the guys restoring those. Mercedes oe parts on hand and ability to re chrome and cad'/nickle plate to original and likely on the original machinery.

Still, my dealer gets me quiet a lot of those grandfather parts from time to time.
Just bought a brand new OE 1959 190SL gas tank sender. Now I find it needs a tank too...another $600.00.

Just wish it looked like that silver (?) one.

Thanks for sharing!

It sure is great to see a couple of W116s with their correct bumpers and not the abortions mandated by the USDOT.

They are just aluminum and are still available at the dealer for around 20 bucks a piece.

Then go to your local autoparts store and get 7-8mm wiper blade refills and cut them down to size and install the blade into your new wiper holders.
