Weber carbs linkage sticking
Hey guys my weber carbs started to stick. They are less than 3 month old when I installed them they were working fine but now I had to install a return spring to even have them return when I let off the gas pedal. I called weber they gave me all kinds of reasons mostly to get rid off me.
Anyone has any ideas what could be the problem? Let me note here that the carbs get stuck both of them the car's acceleration linkage is working fine. Thanks, Laszlo |
Always a good idea to have return springs...most, if not all race scrutineers insist on them.
I install them to balance the throttle pedal feel which varies considerably from vehicle to vehicle. BTW...Did you adjust the throttle blade stop so the blades are just open at idle? If you allow them to close too tight, the cool down shrinks the throttle bore and the blades stick. . |
I took the car to a carb shop today. The guy said he knows the problem, its inside the carbs. He said its common with weber carbs. I'm going back tomorrow I will know more.

They really should not stick. IIRC a weber has ball bearings on its butterfly shaft.
