Question about M110 carbed intake manifold

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of ways of opening up the stock carb-ed manifold to favour the Weber 38 I have installed on it. Currently, each barrel feeds 3 cylinders by the look of it, and ideally, both should feed all 6.

I found this image on a past thread of on this forum which is super-helpful at showing the structure of the carb opening:

I have some questions about the opening that hopefully someone with a manifold on the shelf can answer for me:

1) Are the two sections truly divided, each feeding 3 cylinders and if so, is that little shadow in the wall of the top right barrel the only channel going to the cylinders from the main chamber?

2) It looks like there is more room under this chamber...is there a secondary chamber under the visible one possibly feeding all 6 holes?

I have the carb on it now and this info would really help me plan things out before I touch a wrench.

The inboard barrels near the head, primary and secondary, feed the back three cylinders; the outer barrels feed the first three. The two intake tracts are completely separate.

Great, that's what I thought, thanks Tim!

I'm going to experiment with making a common plenum chamber so the Weber can feed all six cylinders through both barrels. Should be able to get more power with less jet. Stay tuned for full pictorial story!
