W109 smokes when starting and when I go from a stop

This smoke is concerning me a bit.
Car is especially smoking when I start it and then when I go from a stop. The smoke color is grey/ blueish .
What could be the reason for the smoke?

Martin, it sounds like you need new valve stem seals. It's a common problem on high mileage M116 and M117 v8's.

Typical symptoms is a puff of smoke when you shut off and restart after a few hours as oil leaks down into the cylinder.

Valve stem seals: How complicated are these to exchange?

very easy. remove valve cover, one way to do this is use a leak down tester hose that screws into cylinder and hook up compressed air to that hose to keep valves pushed up and turn that cylinder to top dead center, remover valve springs and then remove seals and install new seals.

...or after the rocker arms are removed , shove a piece of rope into the cylinder you want to change the seals on. turn the engine Slowly until the rope is pushing the valves up. Then you can use the mercedes valve spring compressor to push the valve retainers down ,remove the locks and lock retainer. The spring comes off and you then see the valve stem seal.
