GL light on 66/230S

Running my 1966 MB 230S 2.3 out this morning and noticed the GL light blinking on to off at about 45mph.(just purchased it 3 weeks ago) I noticed it on when I first got the car because of a very low idle (600rpm) or a blink or two when I cold start it. Any suggestions as to why this is all of a sudden happening. Doc

My first guess would be the alternator? On the dash assembly theres (GL) written right next to the light (red) that comes on. Doc

Yes, GL is the alternator light. It really shouldn't be lit at those speeds. Check your connections for something loose. Is your battery charging OK?
