My New Wall Art

My 1968 200D was rusty, the engine leaked oil and smoked, new weatherstripping would have cost thousands of dollars, and I couldn't get back the $1,200 I paid for the car even after putting $3,000 of parts into it, so I decided to turn it into art. It makes a rather nice wall decoration.

parting it out???

Squiggle Dog.

Sorry to hear the old fintail never sold. I guess you are slowing parting it out; possibly using parts on your other finny?

I like the whole idea of car as wall art - rawk singer Dave Lee Roth has his first car's body 'filleted' out on his wall like an animal pelt. Can't find a good pic of it out on the interwebs.

The 200D was at the point where I could no longer afford to keep it on the road. The oil leaks and smoke were getting obnoxious. The interior leaks were annoying, I couldn't afford the weatherstripping, and the rust was getting worse. Since I couldn't get a decent price for it, I decided to keep most of the parts for my wagon (which I probably won't be able to do much with for about 10 years, but at least I'll have it).

Some parts are promised to my roommate, but I am willing to sell some parts. I've got the rebuilt injectors for sale and will be selling the engine parts and some other odds and ends.
