w110 190Dc acquired

Hello fellow Vintage owners.

I am now a proud owner of a 1965 (or 1966) 190Dc with a 200D engine. A special thanks to Jeffrey for his assistance in acquiring this car. It should be arriving tomorrow, so if anyone sees it on the back of a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck, you know it's mine.

I will be changing all the fluids, moisturizing all the mb tex, dash, etc., and driving it on "nice" weather days.

Super nice condition, I really like the interior colors.

Why the 200 motor, was it a replacement?

That's what I've been told. I haven't seen the paperwork to know for sure. Time "may" tell.

DB 304, Horizon Blue, is one of my fave MB colors, my 220S is that color. Who owns the green one in the background?

VERY nice acquisition daw!! You got one with the cool single headlights.

Great color combo too, good luck with getting it up to par.

Thanks, Jimmy. I'm hoping to drive it more than just around town . I haven't seen the car in person, yet. It was loaded last night in the Houston, TX area and will be here today. I was easily convinced that I could spend a lot more on a restoration and still not have anything close to this car. I bought it from the 2nd owner, little old lady in her 90s who has owned it for 30 years.

That is Jeffrey's car in the background. Here are two links to the Emerald Bullet ---- video and "Cautionary Tale"

Thanks, Chad. The oil change sticker says 2004 (hopefully, it's not the last oil change) --- so, it's behind on some maintenance items; mechanical stuff that I can do. I don't do paint, so this one REALLY appealled to me.

Congratulations! That is a beautiful car...

The original owner was an Arkansas Judge. The second owners purchased the car in the 70s. Daw is the third owner.

Car had never spent a night outdoors. The original motor was replaced years ago with the 200D engine, which is definitely an upgrade. The original 1.9 liter had 3 bearings, the 2.0 liter has 5 bearings and moves the car with ease. The car has automatic transmission and air conditioning (that works!).

Very nice daw, that is one of the better fintails I have seen in a while.

I can't wait to watch your blog on this car. Keep the pics coming.

Wow, great car! It's nice to see you finally got a fintail. My 200D with manual transmission does well as a daily driver. I wonder how much of a difference an automatic would be in real-world acceleration (1 second slower according to specs). Good find. I recognized the green car in the background.
