Caliper O-rings

In rebuilding the front calipers on my 300 it was only after I split the calipers and threw out the old rubber components that I discovered the rebuild kits do not include the o-ring that sandwiches between the caliper halves.
My search for replacements have resulted in a lot of "these might work" or "you can try these". Does anyone know of a source for correct replacement seals?

thanks in advance

those are the hen's teeth of calipers, not available anywhere

had to deal with non available replacement calipers years ago and used an air conditioner o-ring which did work ~~~ how long ??

BEST TO BUY NEW OR REBUILT FOR SAFETY SAKE

I think these kits have the correct O-rings but you have to buy the kit just for the o-rings since they are for a 914. let us know if they are correct.

I picked up some 0 rings from a local Pirtek. they manufacture custom Hydraulics and brake line. they are made form the proper material and seem to have sufficient crush to form a proper seal. I guess I'll find out,, I'll post my results here when I'm done.

This outfit has them, for like 2 dollar a piece.

You'll have to e-mail or call them for production info.

The warning here is Mercedes never intended for the calipers to be split by anybody other than a caliper rebuilding facility. That is why the seal kits do not include those seals.

the o-rings from Pirtek work great so far after a day of driving.

C-3 rear calipers are notorious for "pumping air" into the hydraulic system. This can occur if the rotor run-out is out of spec, or if there is a bearing issue. Vette Brakes offers a kit that will allow you to rebuild your calipers with O-rings. They are not available from Nissan and previously could only be found used. We now have these in stock and are available for the front or rear claipers or in a complete set for all 4 calipers.
