Orange light in center of Light switch
My 1979 6.9 has an orange indicator light in the center of the main light switch that i figure is suppose to come on when the fog light are illuminated. Mine doesnt work and not sure if it is suppose to on the US models. Should it work? Can i get mine to work?

that little light is for euro models, it came on only when the rear fog light came on

how can I make this little light operable? just needs a bulb and I'd like to use the rear fogs for an optional light function

I was going to use it as a switch for a second set of lights in front, so I don't really care if the wire's there or not. just would like that little bulb socket in the switch itself to do what it was intended to do. It bugged me throughout owning my SD as well.
 needs some super tiny bulb or something..

I think I read that the switch uses the same bulb as the bulb in the gear selector area, at least it did on the euro W123's, assuming my memory is correct.
I also broke down the wiring codes and letters for a later W123 in this post: Headlight switch questions I'll assume some continuity with the era and the switch design and suggest that it may be the same for your car. If you there are designations on your switch, it may help. You may need to ensure that the screws or connections labelled "NSx" are properly connected. I assume NS stands for "NebelScheinwerfer" which would translate to foglight. Maybe NSE = Nebelschein Ein = foglight input. Doing some guesswork, if there is a socket, it probably draws power internally in the switch when the light is pulled to it's second detent and shares a connection with the "N" terminal for hot and possibly the 31 terminal for ground for the bulb. I would strongly recommend finding a different switch and playing with it outside your car to tinker with the orange bulb. Try connecting NSE to +12v, 31 to ground, pull to the second detent and see what happens.
