Location of vacuum actuators on w116?
Hi, does anyone know exactly where the vacuum actuators for the trunk and gas door are on a w116? I assume that they are next to or near the locks but just want to confirm before tearing anything apart. Thanks a lot.
While I have your attention, another question: What are the ducts going into the front doors of most older Mercedes Benz cars for? They seem to lead nowhere(?) |

The gas flap actuator is near the gas flap, and if you look behind the trunk liner you'll see it: It has a loop you can pull to get the door to open if the central locking fails. This should be outlined in the owner's manual.
The ducts going into the doors blow warm air through the door cards for a nice gentle warming in the winter time. It also defogs the side window. -J
