W109 chrome door trim on W108

Does anyone know if it's possible to install W109 chrome door trim on W108 without switching the doors?

It should be identical other than chrome vs aluminum. Granted if you have a LWB 109 donor you need a LWB 108 recipient!

Yes, they will fit on an SEL only. (Not the most fun job)

The door trim uses small phillips head screws. Get the donor chrome trim and as many screws as you can. You will then have to drill corresponding holes in the recipient doors.

You can also get the door armrest wood and use it. They will be a nice upgrade.

Some people will be confused.

Sorry, I assumed you meant the pieces at the midline of the car. Those are trickier as posted above!

I thought they would fit too, but after I removed the top trim there is a visible gap between the top trim(goes around the edge of the door) and the bottom trim(around the window, w108 has it too). This made me think that the top part of the door is different because on the W108 the door frame and the bottom trim are flush. Hope you guys understand what I'm talking about, I should've taken a picture of the donor 109 with the top trim removed.

It take both parts. Outer, Chrome from the 109 around the frame, and an inner, like the trim on the 108, for the inside of the frame.
Wind wing, and far rear door window must be removed to do this job. Along with the window felts.

That's what I thought too, but then I compared inner trim part numbers on w108 and w109 and they were the same. Doors on the other hand got different part numbers.

Only the actual door is the same. the Window frames are completely different between the FRONT W108 and W109. W109 rear doors are exclusive to them only , being 4" longer. Same goes for the W111 and W112 Long wheel base doors which also had chrome trims.
