Parting out a 73 280C This Weekend

Hey Guys,

I just had a 73 280C dropped off at my house on it's way to be scrapped. I only have it for the weekend & am keeping some things for my 280C. It's getting picked up on Monday by the salvage company, so if you want something let me know ASAP.

Some of the car is quite nice & some is not so nice, feel free to post up questions about parts. Car is Silver on Red. If there's any interest, I'll try to post up some pics soon.

Cheers!

Let me know what you need. She'll be dead by Monday.

And before anyone gets on me for scrapping such a good looking car:

A) She has no title.
B) She has no title because she was left at a body shop (that made her look so pretty), but they used a LOT of bondo. And she's still rusty underneath too.
C) She's been sitting at said body shop (and not cranked over) since '97 or '98.

Al wants it.

In all seriousness though, it looks decent at least. Too bad it's probably far more rusty than pictures and your description let on.

jgranzier: I have dibs on the radio.

Tomguy: I was very hesitant to let it get scrapped until I went over it w/ a magnet & inspected the underside. She could be a beater/driver but it would be a losing battle (or a money pit). Throw in the title situation & the rats nest(s) under the hood and it's just not worth it...

Other things I have dibs on so I don't disappoint anyone else:
-Center console
-Blower Motor
-Heater Controls
-Instrument Cluster
-Carb
-Right rear taillight
-I'm sure I'm forgetting something...

Other Notes:
-The hood is very nice
-Front fenders seem to be mostly free of bondo (headlight buckets seem to clean).
-Trunk lid is decent
-Carpets/door panels are nice
-Bumpers are VERY nice.

I'd like the side chrome strips, the "egg crate" grill insert, the older hood star and the gauge cluster.

Lot's of stuff I could use but I'm a bit far away to get it.

Hey Mike D,

PM with what else you "could use". Those chrome strips are long, so if I'm sending them I might be willing to put more in the package. You have dibs on the other items (except the cluster; that's mine).

I could use the vacuum/electric switches in the door jambs--should pop out with a screwdriver--and the front courtesy-light lens if it's intact--many thanks

Dome light is cracked. I wanted it too.

I'll let you know on the rear van/elec switches what I find.

I'll let you know what the radiator looks like when I get it out.

Would like the star to go with the grille surround. But the chrome is cherry on all of it.

Pics & prices will be PMed to everyone after I get her picked clean.
