W115 Euro headlights
Just bought & installed some used European headlights for my Strich Acht today. The reflectors need to be replaced, and I have replacements, but they are aftermarket and won't fit without some modification. Anyhow, I am still pleased with the look - I had the H4 retrofits already, but my plastic headlight doors were very cracked & faded.
The wiring was incredibly easy - there already was a harness for the side markers, and all I needed to do is swap one pin from the 5-connector plug to make everything work. However, I have the outboard fog lights, and these have an internal fog light. For now, I just disconnected the internal fog light wire and plugged the outboards into that terminal. But, I'm wondering how they are done in Europe. Are all 4 fogs run off the same switch, or is there some other wiring magic/relay in place? Or are the outboard fogs wired to come on when pulling out the fog light switch to the second position? (The US 240D's don't have the extra socket for the rear fog light, but I noticed the earlier models with the flat tail light lenses do). BTW, I love the "city lights"! (besides the fact that one of them burned out right after I installed everything, so I had to take the light out again )

Oh yeah, that looks much better! I was pleased when I converted my W116 to the Euro lights. We did the same thing with my roommate's W111.
