250SE electrical question

My car is a 1966 250 SE Coupe which came with a dismantleed 280 SE engine (the 250 engine is long gone) now I am rebuilding things I find I have 2 cables which look like they should have connected to a solenoid or something on the fuel injector pump which is mounted on the engine behind the distributor, my fuel injection pump does not have any electrical connections on it, should I leave these cables seperated and taped up or should they be connected together and taped up ?

On the cylinder head there should be temp sensor close to the pump. This is to tell the cold start device that the engine is hot or cold. Look for a plug on the side of the head towards the rear or a spare hole where the plug may have been removed.
on the 250 there may have been a cast iron thing bolted to the head where the water temp thermo switch was mounted and the wires connected to it.
What is the model number of the injection pump ,on the little plate and the model number of the governor (on the rear of the pump) ?

Take a pic of the injection pump at the rear, past the last of the 6 fuel pipes. There should be a cylindrical looking device, a solenoid, used for starting. There may also be one underneath it. I hope no one dismantled the injection pump or took anything off.

Only American cars got the dual solenoid and not all 280's had the cold start solenoid. :)

Yes I have a temp sensor on the head its on the same side as the pump towards the rear, I have 2 cables which obviously connect to that and out of the same loom 2 that look like they should go to the pump.
