Front-Pillar Trim on 1974 and later 114/115's
Folks
Does anyone know the procedure for removing the wide stainless-steel trim/wind deflectors on the front windshield pillars of the later sedans and coupes? My manuals don't seem to cover the topic--many thanks Tim Kraakevik kraakevik@voyager.net 630 474-9164 |

Tim, I've got a "how to" pictorial somewhere on the forum. Try a "search" and if you can't find it I'll dig it up.

I did it on my old W115, i think i remember how. Look between the trim and the windshield, you'll see some alum tabs that are bent down, bend those straight and then the alum cover comes straight off(its kinda hooked on the top horizontal trim as well, be gently), then behind that there are some 8mm bolts holding the trim unit to the pillar.

The inserts came out satisfactorily--just had to bend the little tabs upward so they'd clear the slots in the black housing mounted to the front pillar--thanks to all for your suggestions
