1973 280SE 4.5 door interior flexible door channel.
I have a 1973 280SE 4.5 and I have replaced the headliner and leather upholstery and want to find the webbing that has that flexible metal channel located on the door opening trim. The flexible metal channel is covered by a cloth webbing. It held onto the interior door opening by just taping it onto the body/door frame. It's really hard to explain, but it goes from the floor on the front of the door opening to the floor of the rear of the door opening with the exception of the two rear doors.
The part is discontinued by MB and there has to be some aftermarket source. The three passenger door look ok, but the driver door entry needs to be replaced from 40 years on getting in and out of the car. Any info on a source of supply would be appreciated. |

I think the name for this part is 'windlace'. There's some info on m-100.cc about windlace replacement.
