Still Having &$#*^% Headlight Trouble
Still having an issue with the headlights on my '70 280S. Can someone please direct me to the location of the ground(s) for the headlights? I have cleaned every plug and all the contact points and also the small ground low and on the right side of the radiator(2 brown wires).

It could be as simple as your right side high beam power supply having a break in it. Have you disconnected the bulb connectors on the right side and tested for either power when activated or continuity? You can use a tester and extend one lead all the way up to the bulb socket, and the other back at the fuse (or stalk switch connector), then test for continuity using resistance to determine if the lead is broken. Good luck! |
I did the former but not the latter. Good idea too, thanks. I'll give it a go

Fuses
May not be related, but I had fuses that looked good, but were actually corroded enough where they would not pass current to the headlight. However, checking the headlight socket with a voltmeter showed voltage, as that only draws a few milliamps.
Replace the fuses with new ones every few years... Csaba |
Did that already, replaced all fuses with fresh ones. Both low beams work as they should, but when I activate the high beams I get low and high on the left side and nothing(low beam goes out) on the right side. ?????!!
