FIRE.. wall

Has any one any info on where i can get a pre-made fire wall lining or even a template for my 220s??? my existing one has been scraped off and is now in the bin. Was hoping to use this for a template but was too shabby.
What are these made from? some kind of fibre board?

g'day Harry, we use a black lined covering called Hardura . it's made in the UK and the thicker one is almost identical to the original merc stuff. You can't but the original type for RHD cars but mercedes have it for LHD .

But you could go for dynamat. i am sure some of the hot rod places in NZ carry it. if not there is a kiwi bloke here in Brisbane who sells it. Dijon Johnson at the racing room .com.

Are you looking for something like this?

MERCEDES engine compartment firewall pad convertible coupe w111 220se 280se 3.5 | eBay

Seems reasonable.

I priced out Dynamat (actually "Dynaliner") for my underhood, and that stuff ain't cheap, either.

Sorry, just saw that the item on ebay is for LHD and you drive on the opposite side... Just install it back to front and upside down?

Good thinking, there is a hot rod place here in Wanaka too. I will call in and ask about this dynamat/liner! Thankyou!

Not sure if this is near you, but they carry this ceramic heat barrier coating called Lizard Skin, which might be helpful in tight places...
