vacuum modulator valve 722.204k4c trans

1972 250C automatic. So I get the new valve from classic in CA, very nice people, however the old hollow bolt that connects the vacuum line from the engine does not fit the new modulator valve. I have one ordered from MB and it will be the end of next week before I see it, if everything goes well. Now I am going to a couple of local stores to see if by chance I can find one locally and get the job finished. I was just wondering if anyone had one or was in a similar situation and what they did. Thanks, David

If you are currently in Dallas.......

There was a place on NW Highway close to Jupiter Road that seemed to be able to get any imported part you could ever need. You might just take the valve there and see if they have something that will fit.

You say you ordered the part from MB. Did you do this online or through Park Place? Park Place can usually get whatever you need overnight.

Thank you, know exactly where you are referencing; but I am in NY with the car so I will check our MB dealer tomorrow; I hope to drive it down in September and leave it there, but if I wait till October I could get to the State Fair. Turns out there is no pressure spring either so I am looking forward to getting this car shifting better.

If the MB dealer cannot help you might try a VW/Audi dealer. I don't know about VW's, but every Audi I have had has had those banjo bolts all over them.

I am thinking if you just went in and showed it to a counter guy they might be able to pull one off the shelf. You never know.
