W115 Shock Bushing Installation

I ordered replacement shocks for my 240D and I must say the instructions from Monroe are completely useless. They make no reference to the bushing order since the design is diffferent than the OEM shock. This appeared to be the best order as the metal discs have different hole diameters making that obvious but the bushings are different designs and so I am not sure if that is the correct order. This configuration seems to have the best fit but I want to make sure that it's right so I don't have to try recompressing the shock from the control arms!

Yeah that looks right, the two rubber bits are on either side of the body. It's about the easiest shock absorber change in the world. I bought Gabriel ones for the 300D because they came with a lifetime warranty and cost about $25 corner. They did very well.

Hmm, I have incredibly weak arms and so I had a heck of a time pulling the shocks out. part of it was removing the screws which had broken threads and moving the wrench 3-4 degrees at a time took nearly 2 hours to remove just the right shock alone. Additionally, I along with previous owners have gouged the underside of the shock mount with the threaded end of the shock. Oops.

Maybe the shocks were good?

The right one may have been. The left one is the one that groans.
