Unhappy '74 230.4 Tech Data

Does anyone know where to get the specs for an Aussie 1974 230.4? I have searched the internet to no avail!

You will find every spec imaginable in the 1974 Technical Data Manual.

Which specs did you need, ignition ?

page 17 reminds me that your car is a 115.017 and that the engine is a 115.951 (and there is no low-compression equivalent).

Zippin over to section 7.5 (page 170), there's a table...

115.951: (0 231 170 138 distirbutor)

Adjust idle at 4,500 RPM w/o vacuum to 40 degrees.
Test it at idle, 1,500rpm 3,000rpm w/o vacuum to be 10-18, 13-19, 30-36 respectively.
w/vacuum, You should see a maximum advance of 14-20, bringing the timing to 54-60.
The setting at starter speed should be 14 btdc (w/o vacuum).

If this site can't sell you the book, contact John Green.
