Needed, W111 bullet signal lenses and outer grille shell

So a guy in a tow truck backed into my coupe last night, thankfully seems to only be trim pieces damaged so far. Classic Center has most items but I still need 2x the beehive style turn signal lenses in clear (classic only sells amber) and the outer chrome grill shell in excellent condition (classic sells all insert materials).

Also, does anyone know of the grille shell on a coupe is the same as a sedan or is it specialized? Please PM me if you can assist.

Sorry, sounds like a huge PITA.

Clear beehive or bullet lenses?

Here's a single clear bullet lens, think this is what you're looking for, part no is 1118200520.

I have a pair of NOS with chrome rings. They're amber which is what I would use in any case.

The grill part number is A 110 888 10 15. It is shared with the sedans and coupe/cabs except for the late model low grill coupe/cabs.

Thanks for all the info. Yes, my car had clear signal lenses in the bullet style. I did notice the one in the eBay ad is different than mine and found out that mine was not only rare for being clear, but rare for being an early version of clear, it has radiating ridges that flare out from the center to the outer edge, the replacement like in the auction has a smooth outside with ridges on the inside. I am sad I can't get them, they were one of my fav parts about this car. I don't really want amber, I like the clear look.

Thanks for the part number info!

It's a shame!! Most tow truck drivers drive like idiots (and probably have the IQ to match)! I HOPE he is covering all of the expense. I would keep the clear lenses as well...that's 1962 was all about.

Yes, the tow company is being very accommodating and has promised to pay all repair costs. I don't think they have much reason to debate the damage, their driver thankfully took photos before and after the incident.

Also, Classic Center confirms that grille is no longer available (they also said correct PN# is 110 888 00 15) but I have been lucky to find a couple from parts cars. I've decided to stick with clear blinker lenses, there are still enough online.

Ok so now I'm getting confused... I've had two different ppl offer me grilles that are supposed to be the part # mentioned above but they both have only 5 rows in the lower of the grille mesh panels meaning the very bottom panel is shorter that those above it. Mine has 8 rows in all the panels so my bottom panel is the same height as the others. When I google images of other tall grille coupes they match mine, so is it possible that two different parts have the same part number or can anyone confirm if that it's correct for a 1962 coupe? Is the number stamped anywhere on the grille? Another option stated to me was that perhaps the insert is different but the outer shell is the same size.

Hey Marrs: Could you get us a pic of the signal lenses and measurements on the grille shell? As far as I know, there was only a "long" and a "short", and only the later Coupes (made after sedan production had ceased) had short.

But early cars are known for deviations at times.

Hi, yes I will get some shots of the lenses and will try and make up a comparison image for you, I don't know if I have close-up from before the damage but you may be able to get a good enough idea what they look like. As for the grille, apparently I am a complete idiot. lol Apparently in photos of my car I was using for comparison (while it's sitting in the shop) I could only see the full panels but didn't realize the shorter one was obscured by the bumper, so I assumed they were all the same size. When I got to the shop today, new grille in hand, they were a perfect match after all. I can now confirm via my own ignorance that the W110 and W111 sedan grille fits the coupe just fine, for tall grille cars anyway.
