purchase accelerator pedal bracket

78 280SL, need to purchase the bracket at the bottom of the pedal. Is this available aftermarket or will I have to go to the dealer?

I just had that bracket fall off on my 85 300D. Kind of rusty under pedal due to salt. Old bracket is in poor shape.

How was that bracket originally attached? Welded?

How did you attach the replacement?

I guess it should be easy enough to copy the old one if there is any problem getting one from dealer.

A search brought up the answer !

Bill hunter had it in a different forum:

1166160020 Mount, accelerator pedal to floor

Seems same bracket is used on many models. And it is supposed to be welded. (But I presume a couple of HD pop rivets might also do the job.
