M110 Cylinder Head rebuild, with Pictures!

Anyone who has been watching my previous thread, "who has pulled an M110 head" knows about this.

I had the head machined by a retired MB machinist down in central florida. He did a great job on the head, i couldnt find any issue at all when i got it back.

The head was found to be fairly straight no major warping at all. All exhaust valves were pitted and required replacement. The head also received a full set of new valve springs. Both cams were polished and measured within MB specs.

The head was pressure tested both in the cooling system and the oil passages and no issues were found.

Here are some pictures of the head and when it was installed. The engine is running great and I have been driving it around a lot. Engine feels great, much more HP than before. Thanks to everyone that gave thier input along the way!

So,Imagine what the standard euro engine feels like!. I love the m110 engine, a great little unit with a lot of potential to build something really great.

That sure is a pretty head and camshaft carriage!

What were you told about the last two white valves and the one rust-colored valve (exhaust) besides the pitting?

Wow, the visual similarities between the M110 and the OM603 blocks are striking....

My friend has one and i've been awestruck the few times that I've been able to take it out for a spin

The white look is what you want to see when a head comes off but it's rare to see that because most heads have to come off because of a problem. The brown ones indicate trouble.
